Owner's Description
Enter through the thatched porch and you step back in time. Wizards Thatch is a self contained luxurious suite filled with sumptuous leather furniture, antique prints, and each room has its own indulgent character. It is indeed Alderley's hidden treasure.
The Period lounge with its heavy timbered low beamed ceiling boasts a huge 17th Century fireplace. This enchanting room with opulent red leather upholstery and antique furniture has rich dark Arabian red walls displaying many antique prints, 18th Century original newspapers, old stone flagons and other interesting collectibles. An offshoot of the lounge away from the thick piled gold carpet is an old flagstone ginnel with a very low oak beamed ceiling. With its selection of table lights and dimmable wall lights the room can be illuminated to suit the mood. LCD TV and a CD player are there for your enjoyment.
Up three small stairs and you enter The Study which is painted in chalky Jasper Cane, a classic yellow found on Wedgwood's Pate sur Pate relief earthenware created locally at their factory in Etruria, Stoke on Trent.
Beyond the old banded door lies a yew desk with its leather swivel chair. Complete with internet access this makes for the perfect working environment. The study also houses a large Indian cabinet in which there is, out of sight, a fridge and microwave oven should you need them.
Go up a small flight of stairs, whose Vellum Parchment painted walls house old Times Newspapers and turn right through a very low oak beamed door and you enter The Master Bedroom with its magnificent gold and red tapestry draped four- poster bed.
His & Hers oak wardrobes stand either side of the old Cheshire brick fireplace which carries an antique gold mirror which illuminates the room.
The opulent four-poster measures 7 foot long by 6 foot wide and must be one of the largest and most comfortable beds in the county. With over 200 separate parts this 'Kerry' Monster is the creation of a true craftsman. This spacious room also sports many original newspapers as well as numerous-humorous 19th Century Punch Prints and a show case of football memorabilia.
The timbered walls and the heavy oak beamed ceiling and its small paned oak widows give the bedroom that Tudor atmosphere. The bedroom has a hospitality tray with a selection of quality teas and coffees, hairdryer, and a LCD TV.
Adjacent to the bedroom is a separate bathroom painted in burnt ginger with an antique floor made from old pews. Luxurious bathrobes, complimentary slippers and toiletries are provided.
Things You Need To Know
The suite with its large lounge is perfect for the executive who would like to bring a partner. The Study can be converted into a second bedroom if required.
