The White House Experience Country Guest House offers guests a small, luxurious and homely alternative to regular travel accommodation. Some Hotels can be very impersonal and soulless , treating each guest as little more than a name or number.

The White House Experience Country Guest House situated just 2 miles from Junction 40 M6 / A66, urrounded by mature gardens and the breathtaking countryside of the English Lake District and Eden Valley.
Penrith has been awarded cycling friendly hub status Here at The White House we make cyclists very very welcome, secure storage for cycles in our outbuildings.
Owner's Description
All our comfortable, generously sized bedrooms have hospitality trays, colour television, radio alarms and hairdryers, most enjoy panoramic views over our extensive gardens and surrounding countryside.
The double, twin and family rooms all enjoy en- suite facilities and the single rooms have a private bathroom .Three of our rooms have King Size beds.
Breakfast and Dinner are served in our lovely dining room which has views of the extensive Gardens .
A Varied Bar Menu is available in the evening between 6pm and 8.30pm with last orders for food at 8pm.
Residents Lounge
The guest sitting room boasts a log fire, views of the gardens and large screen television and video with DVD / video library, a large selection of board games for the kids or the big kids, and a selection of books and tour guides to help you plan your day, or get a drink from the bar and unwind in front of the log fire.
Gardens
The White House is situated in extensive gardens which are well tended and just waiting for you to wander through, or enjoy a drink from the bar while sitting at one of the parasoled tables.
However you choose to unwind the gardens at the White House are here to enjoy and explore at your leisure.
The Gun Room Bar
The now fully licensed Gun Room bar at the White House has proved to be a popular place to unwind , socialise with other guests and enjoy a glass or two of draught John Smiths Bitter or a cool pint of Fosters lager after a hard days touring, travelling or business. We also keep a few single malt whiskies and a full range of spirits. Wine is available either by the bottle or the glass.
Bar meals are served in the dining room from 6pm to 8.pm each evening, all food is cooked to order with an approx waiting time of 45 mins.

Leave at junction 39 (Shap) and follow the A6 towards Penrith (7 miles).
FROM THE M6 SOUTHBOUND
Leave at junction 40(Penrith) and follow the A6 in the direction of Shap (not Penrith) 2 miles.
FROM THE A66
At the Kemplay roundabout Penrith take the A6 signposted Shap as you enter the village of Clifton look for the dark blue sign of The White House Experience.
BY RAIL
There are always taxis at the railway station. The journey will take approx 6 minutes.
