Castleton itself lies in the very heart of the Peak District National Park, and is an ideal base for anyone who loves to be outdoors amongst some of the most beautiful and dramatic scenery in the country.
There are wealth of local walks from gentle strolls to real fell walking along the southern end of the Pennine chain. And of course Castleton itself is famous for its Blue John caverns and show caves and the Norman Peveril Castle. Please note that we offer drying facilities in the winter for wet clothes of hardy sports-people and walkers. Owner's Description
Formerly a Gentleman's Club, Hillside offers friendly, family run accomodation on the quiet outskirts of the historic village of Castleton. The large Country House is set in delightful gardens and provides panoramic views of Hope Valley and Win Hill, with Lose Hill in the distance.
Our comfortable, spacious bedrooms offer homely and clean accommodation. Choice of 2 en-suite double rooms are available, with vanity unit, shaver point, radio, colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities and of course full central heating. A cot is available on request.
Your day may well start with our Full English Breakfast in the dining room looking out over Hollins Cross and Losehill. We can cater for Vegeterians and those with special dietary needs - the owner has Hotel and Catering qualifications. Evening meals are available locally at numerous, and all local inns offer a varied range of bar meals.
