The Old Rectory is situated just over the Scotland / England border in the town of Annan close to Gretna Green, famous for weddings, Lockerbie, Dumfries and Carlisle. We are perfectly situated for you to explore the Border region, South West Scotland, Hadrian's Wall, the North Lake District, Cumbria and the famous towns of Carlisle, Dumfries and of course Gretna Green. The Old Rectory bed and breakfast B&B accommodation is ideal for those touring, sightseeing, walking and cycling. Golf can be played at nearby Powfoot or go fishing on the river Annan, famous for its trout and salmon. Annan is at the gateway to the Solway Coast Heritage Trail and is also part of the Robert Burns Heritage trail, so a perfect place to start a tour of the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway region.

The Old Rectory bed & breakfast accommodation is a fine example of 19th century architecture, typical of the area and built of local red sandstone.
The Old Rectory was commissioned by a judge then bought for the Minister and his family for the Episcopalian church next door.
Your first introduction to your stay at our accommodation is the traditional vestibule entrance, paved in minton tiles with stained leaded windows. through the hall way with its smart wooden carved staircase leading to a galleried landing and light, well proportioned bedrooms.
Relax in the drawing room on the leather chesterfield with a large whiskey and a good book. Or feel free to watch television, a video or listen to some music.
Enjoy a delicious, hearty breakfast in the dining room, which leads through double doors to the drawing room where the old servants bell box still sits on the wall.
The bedrooms are comfortably furnished in traditional style. Five are en-suite, two doubles, two family and one twin. There is one single room with its own private bathroom near by. All rooms are, of course, equipped with, teas, coffee, colour television, hairdryer and clock-radio.

From Gretna take the A75 toward Dumfries and Stranraer.
Take the turning to Annan (about six miles).
In the town centre turn left at the traffic lights on to Bank Street.
This turns into St Johns Road.
The Old Rectory is on the left next to the church.
By road from Dumfries and Stranraer
From Dumfries and Stranraertake the A75 signed toward Carlisle .
Take the turning to Annan (about 14 miles from Dumfries).
In the town centre turn lright at the traffic lights on to Bank Street.
This turns into St Johns Road.
The Old Rectory is on the left next to the church.
