Our south facing conservatory overlooks a patio with table and seating and the rear garden has an ornamental pool and waterfall. This overlooks the farmland at the rear. Meals are taken in the conservatory which is also the guests lounge. We have a collection of books and board games which guests are welcome to borrow, also a range of books and pamphlets detailing the activities available in the area as well as Ordnance Survey maps of the locality.

All our rooms have fitted smoke alarms for the safety of guests and the whole property is strictly non-smoking. Your booking will be accepted on this basis.

Things You Need To Know

Craiglemine Tigh is over 150 years old and was originally two semi-detached farm cottages. Some years ago, the then owners embarked on a comprehensive extension and refurbishment scheme aimed at creating ensuite bed and breakfast accommodation in one of the cottages and updated owners accommodation in the second cottage - linking both of them together with a south facing conservatory at the rear spanning the space between the two cottages.

A parcel of land at the side of the property was purchased as an extension to the garden area. This is currently being landscaped and is being used to grow vegetables for use in the business. The rear garden has been landscaped and has a small pool and waterfall facing the conservatory. The property overlooks open farmland at the front, side and rear. Breakfast is taken in the conservatory which also doubles as a lounge for our guests. The property still has two front doors and guests therefore have access to their rooms via a separate entrance at all times.

Take the A714 from Newton Stewart following the signs for Whithorn, continue thro the village and keep right at the top, until you reach a T junction. Turn right on the A747 thro Glasserton for approx 2 miles. We are located on the left just before a farm track and public phone box and a few hundred yards after the Astronomy Centre .
