Location

The Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre, Scotland's home to the West End Musicals, is just around the corner as is the Omni leisure and entertainment centre with it's 12 screen Vue Cinema complex and Highlight Comedy Club. Only a further 5 minutes walk away onto Queen Street is another comedy club The Stand and Jools Holland's live music venue The Jam House. For those of you requiring a little "retail therapy" - George Street, John Lewis, St. James Shopping Centre, Princes Mall, Jenners, Harvey Nichols and Multrees Walk are all on the doorstep. Ideally situated for monuments, museums and galleries too.

Our public rooms...
The Adria House is traditionally decorated and furnished in keeping with the style and comfort afforded of times gone by. Ornate wallcoverings coupled with beautiful antique furniture and pieces create an atmosphere of a different age, yet our informal staff will make every effort to help you enjoy your stay with us.

Our bedrooms...
All bedrooms have retained much of their traditional character, are comfortable and tastefully decorated with many having en-suite bathrooms. All rooms have colour TV, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities.

Adaptors, alarm clocks, irons and umbrellas are always available for residents use on request as are high-chairs and cots for children. A public payphone on the premises and Free Internet Access Wi-Fi Hotspots can be found throughout the building for guests' convenience.

Things You Need To Know

We would like to make you aware that in these quiet and peaceful premises which are Not Licensed to sell alcohol, we follow a Full No Smoking Policy in accordance to Scottish Law and require that you Do Not smoke in any part of the building.

Edinburgh International Airport is about 10 miles out of the city centre and around a 30-45 minute ride using public transport.

From Edinburgh Airport you can catch a taxi straight to the Adria which will cost between GBP 20 - 30 for a oneway journey. Alternatively you could catch the Airlink Bus into the city centre to Waverley Bridge at the train station which only costs GBP 6.00 per person for a return ticket.


From the train station you could either take a taxi which would take only 5 minutes and cost around GBP 5.00 for a oneway journey or walk from there which, would take around 15 minutes.

When walking, make your way up onto Princes Street and turn right to walk east. At the end of Princes Street turn left to go down Leith Street. Pass John Lewis department store, a roundabout, the Omni leisure and 12 screen Vue Cinema complex (a glass building) and the Playhouse Theatre on your right-hand side. At the 2nd roundabout turn right onto Blenheim Place and walk up towards Greenside Church at the top of the hill and onto Royal Terrace.
