St Andrews has over one thousand years of history - the Cathedral dates from the 12th century and the Castle, originally an ecclesiastical residence, dates from the same period. St Andrews is also a well respected seat of learning where the University is noted to be the oldest in Scotland. There is an endless choice of entertainment - perhaps a visit to The Byre Theatre, The Crawford Arts Centre, joining an historical walking tour, a visit to St Andrews Museum or Kinburn Park, both of which are just across the road - or simply a walk on one of our award winning beaches.

Elaine & Derek Russell offer guests luxury four star bed and breakfast accommodation.
Their home was originally built in 1961 by Sir George Cunningham, the Governor of the North West Province of India (1937-46), Elaine & Derek have taken advantage of original features including quality English oak floors and wonderful oak panelled staircase, Kinburn Guest House prides itself on its high personal level of comfort.

Your hosts have given careful thought to their bedrooms and each room has been furnished with quality linens to add to your personal comfort. All bedrooms benefit from LCD Televisions and DVD players, have a fine selection of tea and coffee making facilities, mini refrigerators, electronic safes, hair dryer and environmentally friendly hospitality products together with luxury bathrobes and towels. Bathrooms offer powerful showers and electric shaving points. An iron and ironing facilities are also available.

The king sized double room has a vanity unit and sink within the room and a bathroom (bath and shower) for your personal use, located just a few steps across the hall.


Our Twin Room also has a vanity unit with sink within the room and a bathroom (for your sole use) situated just a few steps across the hall.

The Family Room has an en-suite shower room and the accommodation is adaptable in that it can be offered as either a king sized double or with twin beds with additional single bed. (Unfortunately we do not accommodate children under 12 years of age.)

For those guests who need to keep in touch with business whilst travelling we have a private room giving you access to broadband internet facilities at any time of the day or evening..

There is an inviting guest lounge and conservatory overlooking the garden, where you can relax and where you will also find a number of booklets and leaflets to help you plan your stay in St Andrews.

Breakfasts at Kinburn Guest House will be an important part of your day and our traditional Scottish Breakfast is freshly cooked to order. We have sourced the best from our local suppliers and where possible organic produce is used. We have many choices including healthy eating options of fresh fruit and cereal. For our golfing guests we provide drying and storage facilities and are happy to provide any information you may need in assisting you with local tee times. A unique recent addition is an all weather putting green.
