To experience and appreciate the beautiful countryside of Kent and East Sussex, Waterside Guest House is the perfect base offering charming hospitality. Situated in the delightful seaside village of Dymchurch and within easy reach of the historically impressive Canterbury, Waterside is a lovely holiday location, while breakfast is being served most days we feed the Ducks that visit us you can also see Swans, Little Grebes Moorhens and if you are quick you will see the Kingfisher flash through over the water. The benefits of picturesque countryside and the Blue Flag sandy beach of Dymchurch epitomises its idyllic appeal. Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Steam Railway can be seen from our terrace, the train runs from Hythe to Dungeness a total of 13 miles Dungeness is a very unique area with its plant life that grows nowhere else. During Bank Holidays and all summer children can take donkey rides on the sandy beach which has a Blue Flag rating. Port Lympne Zoo is just 4 miles away. Dover 18 miles from Dymchurch with it's magnificent castle is a must the views from the very top are beautiful. Canterbury is a major tourist attraction with it's splendid Cathedral and lots of shops. A good area for walking/cycling as the surrounding countryside is very flat. August Bank Holiday 2010 welcomes the bi-anual festival of Dr. Syn celebrations with re-enactments on the beach and firing of the cannon on Dymchurchs Martelo Tower great fun for all the family. After all this excitment come back and relax in our beamed bar/lounge or on the terrace and watch one of many beautiful sunsets that we witness here.

Location

There is so much to do for all the family, all within easy reach of WATERSIDE GUEST HOUSE. Endless beautiful beaches grace the coastline, ideal for a relaxing day out or some activities like donkey rides and building those magnificent sand castles. Possibly the best way to appreciate the breath-taking scenery is to take a trip on the ROMNEY, HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY. It was first opened in 1927 and now covers thirteen and a half miles absorbing the sights from the Cinque Port of HYTHE to the lighthouses at DUNGENESS. Trains run daily from the beginning of April to the first week of October providing plenty of enjoyment for the whole family. Port Lympne wildlife sanctuary is another highly recommended vist. It is perfect for children to see many different animals and for the adults to roam the lovely gardens.

The area is rich with fascinating history and places to explore. The historic sight of Hastings to the impressive cathedral in Canterbury are all simply unmissable outings. We are not too far from Rye a beautiful old coastal town on the East Sussex coast. East Kent and Sussex steam railway will take you to Bodium Castle only a shell now but a good day out in a lovely location where you can have a picnic. Nerby Waterside is Lathe Farm where there is a childrens farm with Sheep with Lambs in April, Donkeys, Goats, lama's, Chickens, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and a pony called 'Ginger'

Many guests frequently return to WATERSIDE to enjoy our warm welcome and relax in our comfortable accomodation. To have the tranquillity of the water with a variety of wildlife and the beautiful scenery to gaze upon, it is easy to unwind and watch the world go by.

All the essential facilities are provided to an excellent standard. Five bedrooms all with ensuite are tastefully decorated providing televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. WATERSIDE GUEST HOUSE is tailored to look after everyone, offering family accommodation with cots and highchairs. When you arise in the morning a superb choice of breakfast awaits, from something light to a hearty full English breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.

The WATERSIDE GUEST HOUSE is very accessable with plenty of guest parking and is also only twenty minutes from the Euro-Tunnel, perfect if you fancy a trip across the channel to experience a slice of France.

After venturing out and around Kent or popping over to France, the WATERSIDE GUEST HOUSE is a lovely and relaxing place to return to for the evening. An excellant range of meals are available with plenty of quality local produce used for freshness and that home cooked taste. All meals are served in the charming cottage style dining room or if the weather is nice what better than to dine out on the waterside terrace. After a satisfying meal you can stay out on the terrace and finnish the evening with a glass of wine and watch one of the beautiful sunsets as it dissapears below the horizon, orretreat into the oak beamed bar where you can chat with other guests in a cosy and peaceful environment over a glass of quality local beers or selected wines or spirits. And then its up the apple and pears for a peacefull nights rest ready for another day ahead.

Unless by prior arrangemnents Rooms will be available
on day of arrival from 1 pm and on day of departure Rooms Must be vacated by 10 am. All prices are per room. Christmas Holiday period not included. A minimum non returnable deposit of £20 is required when booking. Our cancellation policy is as follows:- If a cancellation is received within 3 days of the day of arrival or no show we will seek to claim the full value of the accommodation booked, this charge will only be levied if the accommodation remains unsold. Please note children under 3 years of age stay free, children over the age of 15 will be charged the adult rate.

Take Juntion 11 on the M20 onto the A261 down towards Hythe. When you reach the traffic lights at the bottom of the hill go straight on passing the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway station on you right, turn right at the next lights(compulsary)onto the coast road the A259 we are approx 5 miles from here on the right hand side just half a mile beyond the 30MPH road sign.
