The benefits of picturesque countryside and the Blue Flag sandy beach of Dymchurch epitomises its idyllic appeal. Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Steam Railway can be seen from our terrace, the train runs from Hythe to Dungeness a total of 13 miles Dungeness is a very unique area with its plant life that grows nowhere else. During Bank Holidays and all summer children can take donkey rides on the sandy beach which has a Blue Flag rating. Port Lympne Zoo is just 4 miles away. Dover 18 miles from Dymchurch with it's magnificent castle is a must the views from the very top are beautiful. Canterbury is a major tourist attraction with it's splendid Cathedral and lots of shops. A good area for walking/cycling as the surrounding countryside is very flat. August Bank Holiday 2010 welcomes the bi-anual festival of Dr. Syn celebrations with re-enactments on the beach and firing of the cannon on Dymchurchs Martelo Tower great fun for all the family. After all this excitment come back and relax in our beamed bar/lounge or on the terrace and watch one of many beautiful sunsets that we witness here. Possibly the best way to appreciate the breath-taking scenery is to take a trip on the ROMNEY, HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY. It was first opened in 1927 and now covers thirteen and a half miles absorbing the sights from the Cinque Port of HYTHE to the lighthouses at DUNGENESS. Trains run daily from the beginning of April to the first week of October providing plenty of enjoyment for the whole family. Port Lympne wildlife sanctuary is another highly recommended vist. It is perfect for children to see many different animals and for the adults to roam the lovely gardens.
