Owner's Description

Whilst the cottage is old, the facilities are bang up to date, all 3 bedrooms are en-suite with powerful showers and bags of hot water, comfortable beds, TV, tea and coffee facilities, central heating, hair dryer and fluffy towels. A silent fridge is in each room with fresh milk, bottled water and complimentary Belvoir cordials, enough room for champagne but you will need to bring your own!

An iron and shoe cleaning materials are available. A ground floor room is available for those who don't like stairs. Wet clothes and walking boots can be dried in the boiler room- just ask.

In keeping with our style, the rooms are comfortable and what you would expect when staying with good friends.

The Ground Floor Suite is a large bright bedroom with a king size bed and its own small sitting room. Double doors lead from the bedroom, into the sitting room. Here you find 2 easy chairs, a television, a couple of shelves of books for the quiet life and a table for those with some work to do or games to play. In the shower room a powerful shower and 4 foot wide shower cubicle emphasise the space and attention to comfort.

The Cream Room is a spacious King Size room with a Super-king size bed that can split into twin beds. Enjoy your morning 'cuppa' sat in bed gazing out at nearby Belvoir Castle - this is a view to appreciate slowly.
Down 2 steps to the ante-room where 6 shelves of books can be found. along with access to the shower room. A powerful shower, 4 foot wide shower cubicle and as with all our rooms bags of hot water, a pleasure!'.

The Turquoise room has an antique brass and iron bed and an en-suite bathroom.

A favourite with walkers who appreciate a bath, a powerful shower is over the bath for those with less time and less aches.

The bedroom is large enough to accommodate 2 easy chairs to relax in while watching television, but with miles of uninterrupted views you may not wish to turn the TV on!

Meals and guest facilities...
You are our guests and we look after you as we would like to be looked after. This is reflected in the choice of breakfast which includes hot and cold items using local produce where possible and served at a flexible time!

We do not provide evening meals but a wide selection of styles and prices are available in the area. Please ask for suggestions and sample menus. We can book a table for you (necessary at some of the popular restaurants) and we can arrange transport, usually in our people carrier - no argument as to who's turn it is to drive if it's always our turn!

All rooms have direct access to the guests lounge were breakfast is served or guests can simply relax in a easy chair. Additionally, the lounge offers coffee and a small drinks tray is available for those who might need a little reviving after a good day investigating the beautiful countyside that is on offer, or a nightcap to end a wonderful day.

Business Guests
Book into the ground floor suite. Unlike a hotel room the attached sitting room is suitable for use as an office, shut off from the bedroom but with access to the shower room/ toilet.

Meet your clients on neutral ground, we will always provide coffee, cakes, sandwiches or light lunches. Use the garden.

We have wireless broadband access. Use of photocopier and fax by arrangement - these are in the B&B office adjacent to the ground floor suite.

Early breakfasts are no trouble, or share a later breakfast with your clients.

"A gem. My partner and I had a lovely, and too short, stay at this B&B. We booked at the last minute for a weekend away out of London and Suzie was incredibly helping with our booking... The first impression was wonderful. Pristine, with lovely flower arrangements around the house, it felt very peaceful, and the exact opposite of London, which we were grateful for. While Norman helped us out planning a route for a long walk, Suzie served us the most decadent Victoria sponge cake to fortify us! After a long day of walking, we found the local pub as the last light left the sky. Again, for dinner, Suzie and Norman arranged for us to go to a local gastropub and delivered us there and back in their van. Our room was light, immaculate and very cosy. Breakfast the next morning was a beautiful feast. Suzie obviously has great taste, as the table setting would have made Martha Stewart proud. Farm fresh bread, fish, an amazing tomato dish option for my veggie partner, and full-English if you wanted too. We wish we could have stayed longer... We were so grateful - they truly go above and beyond. We wish them great success with their B&B - they deserve it. If you want a wonderful weekend away from it all with true hospitality, this is it!"

"My wife and I stayed here for one night during a driving holiday through England... Our room was beautiful - huge bed, large ensuite bathroom with a good, powerful shower, lovely views across to Belvoir Castle, and complete peace & quiet as you'd expect for its location. Suzie was able to advise on a good place to go for dinner, but we didn't need to use their shuttle service (although it's nice to know it was there!). Breakfast was as delicious as it was copious, and I don't think I needed another meal until dinner the next night! We would definitely stay here again, and can thoroughly recommend this B&B."

"What an amazing place and a lovely warm welcome. This B&B is in a dedicated section of the owners' countryside cottage. It's in the middle of nowhere, but thankfully the Tom Tom got us to the front door, saving many map-reading arguments. If you want peaceful and secluded, with country walks literally on your doorstep, then this place is great. We didn't do any walking, but simply vegged. Our room was great. Large, very well decorated, clean and with a really comfy king-sized bed. Nothing like your average British B&B room, more like a little boutique hotel. The en-suite shower room (can't remember if it had a bath) was just as good, complete with fluffy white towels and robes. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stop and relax after my blacksmithing course (yes, really). Suzie and Norman, the owners, are amazingly hospitable. They have a people carrier to ferry people to and from the local pubs and restaurants, realising that their guests are likely to want to enjoy a drink with their dinner. After we got back we ended up sitting around for a couple of hours chatting over a glass or two of wine. These people really seem to enjoy what they're doing, and I definitely appreciated them! Breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit, cooked breakfast and loads of toast with lovely jams. You can certainly plan on skipping lunch! All in all, an excellent value little place to stay in the countryside, with welcoming hosts and a cut above what you expect from a B&B."
