Location

Halfway between Lincoln and Peterborough on the A15, Folkingham is an old coaching stop with a marketplace still surrounded by eighteenth-century stone houses and cottages. We are lucky to have a pub, a village shop and delicatessen, and a chocolate shop. Folkingham is an excellent base for visiting the many historic houses nearby, Belton House, Belvoir Castle, Burghley House, Grimsthorpe Castle, Woolsthorpe Manor, Doddington Hall, and Stamford, a fascinating and beautiful old market town. There are interesting gardens, good country walks and a magnificent collection of old churches in the villages nearby. There are lots of guides and maps here to help you plan your visits.

Owner's Description

Our listed Georgian house faces the village green of Folkingham, Lincolnshire's most handsome conservation village. A warm and comfortable family home elegantly furnished in period style, The White House is filled with flowers, pictures and books, and retains many original features. Bedrooms, with antique four-poster, king-size or twin beds, are spacious and well-equipped. Our guests are welcome to relax in the walled garden, or by one of the open fires in Winter. Healthy, generous breakfasts are included, and dinners can be provided by arrangement.
There is plenty of space for parking, and livery is available five minutes' walk away.

Bedrooms
The double bedroom on the first floor is furnished with an antique four-poster bed, crisp white bedlinen, a comfortable armchair and shutters at the windows. The light and airy private bathroom for this room has a cast iron bathtub and a range of toiletries.

The pretty single room adjoining the four-poster bedroom is available if required by the same party.

The double bedroom upstairs can have twin beds or a large kingsize bed. The spacious ensuite bathroom has a shower and a bathtub. All bedrooms are provided with hairdryers, radios, plenty of books and magazines, mineral water and a well-provisioned tea and coffee tray. Of course you are welcome to use our ironing and drying facilities, or indeed anything else you may require.
