We provide a comfortable TV lounge with Sky TV and a video-DVD player and dining area where you can relax, read the newspapers, take a comfortable afternoon tea or evening meal if you wish, or find a selection of local produce to purchase. We offer a wide range of breakfast options to suit all diets and preferences, and can customise a meal service for you according to the needs of your party, including packed lunches, filled flasks for travellers, picnics or hampers of local produce to take home.

We stock and serve FairTrade, organic or local produce wherever possible, including fresh, free-range eggs from our own hens.

Location

We are situated within walking distance to Stornoway's Golf Course and Castle Grounds, and are located very close to the Western Isles Hospital for those attending appointments or visiting friends or relatives.

Owner's Description

Bed and breakfast has changed, and with us it has moved upmarket. Jannel, our Stornoway-based Bed and Breakfast establishment, is a modern, light and airy large family house, designed and furnished to the same exacting standards as the rest of our accommodation.

We have one large family room (one double, two singles), one medium-sized family room (one kingsize, one single) a double room with kingsize bed and a twin room. All rooms are ensuite, recently modernised, snug, light and airy and fully equipped to meet the demands of both the leisure and the business traveller. The twin and kingsize rooms are on the ground floor.

We welcome parties with children, those on walking, cycling, fishing or motorbiking breaks, guests with special needs, and can offer facilities to support guests who may be bringing their own sporting equipment.

We work to the highest standards of safety and security and, as with our other properties, are working hard to ensure environmentally-friendly business practices. We are a fully non-smoking premises in compliance with Scottish law.

Things You Need To Know

We are open seven days a week and offer both daily and weekly rates. It is possible to self-cater with us if you wish to make a booking for at least a week: please ask for further details when you book. We can also host small business conferences, training sessions or working groups for up to eight participants: please call us to discuss your requirements. We look forward to welcoming you to Jannel.
