The views are stunning looking towards Pilsden Pen and Lewesdon Hill, the highest hills in Dorset.

Barn cottage is very rurally situated in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Overlooking the garden, is the dining room, where we provide plenty of scrumptious home made food, ranging from porridge to a full English breakfast with, of course, fresh fruit.

Location

Barn Cottage, is ideally located halfway between London and the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Closer by, it is a lovely base for exploring the beautiful West Country, South Somerset, West Dorset, East Devon, Exmoor, The Mendips and The Quantocks.

Within a half hour drive is the beautiful Heritage Coast at Lyme Bay, and within a few miles are many stately homes and gardens, such as, Forde Abbey, Tintinhull, Barrington Court, Montecute House.

As a complete family day out, Cricket St Thomas is a few miles away through the back lanes.

There are excellent coastal and countryside walks, cycle routes, sailing and fishing at Lyme and country pubs.

We are in the middle of many hidden golden stone villages, pretty market towns with thriving Farmer's Markets, lovely little by-roads, golf, riding, swimming and other sporting opportunities.

Barn Cottage was originally a farm stable, converted and extended 20 years ago, and recently refurbished.

The fresh, light, King and Twin en suite rooms are comfortably and stylishly decorated.

We are complimented on our very comfortable beds with crisp sheets, duvets and individual quilted throws.

Rooms are well equipped for your stay with a comprehensive hospitality tray with fresh milk, remote colour TV/DVD, (and DVD's) a clock radio, binoculars, hairdryer, and always, fresh flowers.


The warm, bright en suite bathrooms have large luxury quadrant walk-in shower cubicle with nice soft towels, and high quality lotions and potions for that bit of pampering!

Things You Need To Know

We can store your bikes and dry your clothes if necessary! If you want to "do" a long distance walk eg The Liberty Way, we are happy to be your base and pick up and drop off along the walk.
