Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of our frequently asked questions, that we have been asked. So just have a quick browse and make sure that you are completely happy, or even what questions you may like to ask the bed and breakfast or guest house owner before you make a booking.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival and departure vary between the different accommodations, but owners generally ask for you to arrive after 3pm on the day of arrival and leave the property by 10am on the day of departure. This allows the owners to make sure that the accommodation is thoroughly cleaned and ready for you when you arrive.

How do I pay?

Generally you will be asked for deposit to secure your booking and an amount of 25% is very common.

The owner of the accommodation will then contact you when it's time to pay the balance of your stay.

If the booking is made within 24 hours before your stay, you may well be asked to pay the full rental price there and then.

How will I receive confirmation of my booking and payment?

Please ask the owner this before booking. Generally a confirmation of booking will be sent to you with a receipt of the deposit payment. Some owners may also send you helpful information such as directions and what to enjoy locally at the same time.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

If you need to cancel, you should contact the bed and breakfast owner immediately and discuss this with them.

The Bed and Breakfast owners will have terms and conditions that you have agreed to on booking their accommodation. It always advisable to read these before you make any booking.

If you have given them ample notice and they can re-let the accommodation they may well reimburse you fully. If however it is short notice and they are unable to re-let the rooms you may forfeit your fee.

Some owners will keep the deposit money regardless of the notice of cancellation you give them. Make sure you have read the terms and conditions before you book.

Will there be any additional charges?

This depends on the accommodation. Again we advise you to ask the owner direct before making your booking. There may be additional charges for items such as extra beds, pets, bedding and use of some facilities.

The accommodation information page on this site should clearly show any extra charges before you book your holiday. We are not responsible for any charges that are not shown for any reason.

What facilities will the rooms have?

This depends on the individual accommodation. All Bed and Breakfast and guest houses will have something special to offer you and the number of facilities and extras that they have will be reflected in the price.

If you are interested in a particular accommodation please check out their information page for more details about what they offer, then pick up the phone and ask them direct.

Do you ever offer discounts?

We are unable to offer discounts. We can only advertise the rooms at the price stated by the owners. However if you want to negotiate a discount then do ask the owners.

However don't be upset if they do not offer discounts as they may well have a great reputation and provide an excellent service and so they may not need to offer any discounts.
