3 Reasons Why You Should Take a Romantic Break, Wedding or Honeymoon In Scotland

Are you lucky enough to be in the process of planning to take your partner away for a romantic break or trying to find the perfect place for your wedding or honeymoon?

If you are, I would strongly recommend visiting Scotland. This spectacular country lends itself perfectly to the most memorable romantic holidays and weddings and in my eyes is a match for anywhere else in the world.

There are a number of reasons why Scotland is the perfect place to visit for a wedding, honeymoon or romantic break. Three specific reasons are highlighted below.

1 - The totally Breathtaking Beauty of Scotland...

Scotland is a land flowing with history, culture, stunning countryside, amazing wildlife and I mustn't forget the land of whiskey and haggis.

The Scottish people are friendly, food is tasty and the views are just stunning! The beauty of Scotland can sometimes be difficult to explain, but you will see it firsthand in pictures. As beautiful as Scottish pictures are, however imagine you and your new lifelong partner actually staying there for your honeymoon... Whether it is the un-spoilt countryside of Scotland and wildlife that attract you or the beautiful breathtaking mountains, Scotland creates pictures of perfect scenery for romance. There is nothing better than waking up to that beauty each and every morning of your special break away.

2 - Scotland offers The Large Selection of Activities and Attractions

Another one of the many reasons why Scotland makes the perfect destination for wedding, honeymoon or romantic break is because of all that you can do and see. In terms of places to see and things to do, Scotland is most well known for its nature and outdoor related activities, including bird watching, wildlife tours, skiing, horse riding, hiking, walking kayaking, craft centres and of course golf!

As for the Scottish activities that you and your partner can enjoy on your romantic break away or honeymoon, you will find that you have a number of different options, no matter which part of Scotland or Scottish Island you choose to visit.

For example, Isle of Mull, Arran and Coll are well known for its Wildlife Expeditions and Bird watching. Here you have a chance to see golden eagles flying high above the Island, otters sleeping in the kelp and porpoises amongst other species. Steeped in history, Islay is a dream destination for golfers and whisky aficionados, or if your interests includes archeological sites and you enjoy adventure activities, Lewis is most definitely the place to visit.

3 - The Reasonable Prices & Easy travel planning of Scotland romantic breaks, weddings and honeymoons...

When it comes to planning a romantic trip to Scotland, whether it is a honeymoon or a holiday, many holiday makers makes the mistake of assuming that Scotland is too expensive. It depends of course what you go for and it is important to remember that you can save money.

The travel arrangements are very easy to plan. It depends whether you prefer to drive, use the public transport like trains or want to get there fast and save the time then I would use the plane.
From London Airports you can get a very cheap airfare to many Scottish destinations. Once you get there you can hire a car (remember that in an airport it costs more than in town).

In past I have used a 'fly and drive' offer from a fly operator (you book a flight and hire the car at the same time). It saved the time and trouble and as soon as we had arrived we could get jump to the car and get to our first destination as quickly as possible ready to make the most of our time.
From Glasgow you can catch a sea plane to Tobermory on Island of Mull to add to the adventure.

I know that some people prefer to drive. I suppose it depends how far you have to go. My parents drove to Scotland twice. They stopped for a night in a little Cumbrian village and spent a night in a small B&B.

On the internet you will find a large selection of places to stay from Farm house B&B rooms, cottages in the middle of nowhere in splendid places or to larger country houses. It all depends on what you love the best. To save money, just compare the holiday rentals prices before making your bookings. You will find the most romantic and not expensive places to stay. Bed and Breakfast are almost everywhere and they would be the most suitable if you want to travel around the Scotland and remember to ask for a full Scottish breakfast, simply a must! If on the other hand you want the privacy, I would strongly recommend to rent self catering cottage. You can get really cosy and spent hours sitting by the fire at nights, watching the logs burning away or watch the most stunning sunrise and sunsets...

The above mentioned reasons are just a few of the many why Scotland romantic breaks, wedding and honeymoons are the most romantic and popular...This spectacular country lends itself perfectly to memorable romantic holidays and weddings. In fact, there is a good chance that you will never want to leave!
