Why you should take your kids to theme parksEvery year I make the effort to take the kids to one of many of the UK theme parks whether it's Alton Towers, Thorpe Park or Drayton Manor to name just few. Well actually, apart form having to drive to the destination, you could say the kids take me!
Once we arrive, we park the car in the free car park ( that's quite a novelty nowdays) and in we go. I normally book online as this can save a few pounds also some places you don't have to queue as long to get in. It never ceases to amaze me what new crazy stuff they come up with next. Year after year there is always something new and exciting to get the adrenalin pumping through your veins.
It really is a great day out. If the weather is good we pack a picnic hamper and spare set of clothes (why clothes you are probably thinking) well! Because three years ago I decided just before we would set off home, that we should all go on one of the water rides again, you guessed it; we were all soaked to the skin, not too bad for the kids you could sit in the back of the car practically naked with the heater working over time. But for me, well, need I say more?
Anyway back to the picnic. After running around for a few hours you tend to feel a bit peckish so we find a nice spot to sit and talk about what we enjoyed the most and what we want to do again and what we haven't done yet and, and, and Sorry got a bit excited then!
So once we've devoured the picnic it's back to the fun, fun, fun! We spend the rest of the day as we spent the morning. Getting wet, being shot forward, blasted upwards, turned upside down, dropped, and spun, etc. At the end of the day I'm exhausted but fully content although I can hardly speak anymore due to all the screaming.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention the kids enjoy the day too!
